One Woman Show

After watching your show, I saw so much of myself in you; As a black boy having grown up surrounded by a world of white, your show brought me back home; it brought me into the arms of my grandmother, and to the part of my life that I conceal. Thank you for sharing this story with us. Thank you for showing us your vulnerability, but also the power behind it. Thank you for not hiding the scary and for celebrating the beautiful. And, most importantly, thank you for taking us to church! This show will forever stick with me.

This was great! Dr. Jackson is awesome! And I loved that she shared her process with us. I think it's helpful to see all the preparation that went into her show before she was ready to be improvisational on stage.

I would actually like to thank you for such an amazing performance. You are fierce and brave—your story touched me. Thank you so much for your gift!

Social Justice Presentations

I cannot thank you enough for your meaningful and timely presentation this morning.  You opened eyes and hearts to important pathways for our supervisors, teachers, and ultimately for our children.  The clip of your one-woman show was perfect, a brilliant introduction to the Social-Justice-Social Emotional Wellness work happening in our art and music classes in Connecticut.

Many people asked about how to reach you.  Not surprisingly, they want more of you!! I am so grateful to have been introduced to you and to be able to expand your reach into our arts education leaders.

– Dee Hanson, Director of CT Arts Administrators Association

Thank you for your great presentation today. It was extremely informative and interesting, and presented a music foundation the choir had not been exposed to. I know it captured the attention of the young men and choir directors.

– Valita Luckett, Wel Foundation

I wanted to send you a brief, but LONG OVERDUE note, expressing my sincerest thanks and deepest debt of gratitude for the PHENOMENAL presentation that you shared with the Co-op family on Wednesday, February 17, 2021, by showing us a portion of "From the Hood to the Ivy League". Your story, the performance itself, and your aura/energy/presence are MONUMENTALLY captivating, enthralling, inspirational, and POWERFUL. Our students were BLOWN AWAY by what was represented within your one woman show and felt an IMMENSE sense of pride in their school, knowing that as an alumnus, you have not only made your way in this world, but are SOARING and THRIVING at every bend, turn, and twist in the road. Harriett RAVED about you, and it is quite apparent why.
